  more about Milosovici...

Lavinia Milsovici was one of Romania's shiniest Gymnastics stars. Like her idol, Daniela Silivas, Milosovici never won a major gymnastics title but she has contributed half her life to Romanian gymnastics and has won innumerable medals in international competitions, many of them gold.

She is also the last gymnast ever to score a 10.00 in a major gymnastics event, with her wonderful performance on the floor exercise final at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, in which she won 2 gold medals, on vault and floor exercise, 1 silver medal, for team competition, and 1 bronze medal in the all-around final. Because of her success at the 1992 Olympics, Milosovici was awarded the best athlete of Romania that year.

In the 1996 Olympics, Milosovici  captured another bronze medal in the all-around final again, giving herself an excellent retirement gift. She is the first gymnast since her compatriot Nadia Comaneci (1976-1980)  to win All-Around medals in 2 consecutive Olympics and is the first female gymnast since Czechoslovakia's Vera Caslavska ('64-68) to win a world or Olympic title on every event.

After her gymnastics career, Milosovici stayed in Romania and began University in Timisora, studying sport and English.

On October 23rd, Milosovici married her childhood friend Cosmin Vinatu, a sergeant in the police force.
